What you see on the website is what we actually quote and follow for everyone.
We charge just enough to allow the place pay for what it costs to run it and keep it up. We do not make excess money to afford such things as house cleaners or grounds keepers.
So our rates are intentionally reasonable and they are the same for everyone. It is less hassle for everybody we think.
Additionally, we do not inflate our rates when the season is busy -- the rates are the same all year around.
Several things which keep us busy besides the good rates:
(1) our ability to take payments and have you in the same day on a short notice;
(2) our willingness to book for short periods of time (many places won’t book for less than a week).
Our objective is to maintain a house like a regular Hawaiian family would own and live in, furnished with unique furniture and lots of local art that you are not likely to find at the typical hotel or the box condo rentals.
We cater to regular folks who want a nice place to stay, who don’t want maid service and aren’t afraid of washing their dishes and taking out their own trash. We don’t have the high overhead, you don’t have the high rental fees.
This approach seems to have worked since we have teachers, seminar attendees, weekend trip people, business trip people from all over the Islands, local town folks, from other Islands, as well as all the many travelers from all over the world who book our property, come back on return trips, and repeatedly give us feedback that says they felt the rentals were a good value and that they enjoyed their time with us.
